When we die, the only thing we can carry forward into our next birth is the link between the Jivatma & Paramatma, between you and the deities. If we can establish the link with a deity through Diksha, mantra siddhi & prema bhakti, the deity will take full responsibility of our present & future lives. The deities are beyond our karma. There is nothing else we can carry forward with certainty into our next lives. We then have the Dharmic obligation to consciously return everything we have taken in this life before we leave, be it wealth, material, knowledge, wisdom or love. Everything must be returned without expectation as an offering to the lotus feet of the divine. This is what we call as true Seva. There is a two-fold approach to our Swadharma. There is a material world & there is a spiritual world.
To preserve our life, we need to master the material world. There are plenty of teachers in this phase. Whoever teaches us, whether parents, school teachers, art teachers, sports or gym trainers or mentors, are considered Material Siksha (Learning) Gurus. To realize ourselves, we need to master the spiritual realm. In this phase, there can only be one Guru, A Diksha (initiation) Guru, who can take us to the Devaloka. But there is also a transitory phase between the material & the spiritual realms. As we ascend the material world, our sense of embodiment & perception becomes amplified. The experiences & expression of all our desires, joy & pain begin to feel much more intense. We need to learn to regulate the energy of expression.
It is the phase where we outgrow our learning. Or we find that all our learnings are beginning to fail us. But it is also the phase where we haven’t found a Diksha Guru. For a sincere Sadhak, this phase generally happens between the age of 26 to 40. The shift can be rather drastic. It is the age where the Ahamkara has experienced the pain of life & the Atma begins to consciously seek something beyond. They are still young enough to change their life & path but old enough to make their own choices. They still have, although limited, the health, time, energy & space to turn their lives into a Sadhana. They need personal guidance, a sanathani teacher who is more available to them than a Diksha Guru who has to attend to large purpose of a Sampradaya and thousands of disciples around the world.
The Transitory Phase – Spiritual Siksha Guru

The transitory phase is a dark phase, if we are not guided by a proper teacher. It is a state of limbo because we have one foot on each side & both are not firmly grounded, floating in the middle. It can shake us off our roots. There are plenty of guides & teachers in the material Siksha Phase. There are higher beings in the Diksha phase, who can be found when you are ready or rather, you will be found when you are ready.
But there are very few spiritual Siksha Gurus in the transitory phase. Satyam Shivam Nath knows there aren’t many because there was a time in the past when he was looking for an offering or a guide similar to what he is offering today. He couldn’t find any. He went through a great struggle to cross the transitory phase without a guide. It was only much later he found his Diksha Guru.
It will be impossible to find a personal spiritual guide who can progressively customize a sadhana & path for you according to your unique existence. Each of us is uniquely different by our;
- Svabhava (Inherent Nature)
- Svaguna (Inherent Qualities)
- Svakarma (Our Karma)
- Svadharma (Our birth Duty)
- Anubhava (Personal Experiences)
- Kala (Our own time & space)
- Desh (Our Geopraphical position in Bhuloka)
- Gotra & Kula Devata (Rishi & genetic Ancestry)
In Kali Yuga, you are most likely going to find one of these teachers in your material – spiritual transitory phase and they are going to destroy you with deviant practices, commercial offerings, black tantra & energy manipulation.
- Certificate & life coaches talking absolute nonsense for profit
- Shashtric & religious teachers giving commentaries on ancient texts & prescribing rituals & ceremonies that may be detrimental
- Spiritual scholars teaching from books
- Modern scientists & atheists
- Guru worshippers without Guru Dharma & Guru Seva
- Fraud Gurus / Teachers
- Genuine Gurus offering higher spirituality when it is still too early for you to receive it
A proper spiritual Siksha Guru during the transitory phase must be able to learn & understand your deepest nature before guiding. Each person must be guided differently according to their nature. The guide holds the torch for you so that you can see their next few steps. He holds it until you cross the jungles, rivers, mountains, desert & snow of life, until you discover your next path. The path ahead is already wide & bright with many guides, filled with Anugraha from the deities. A guide’s job with you is done when you find your path. The torch-holding guide will not be needed anymore. This is where Satyam Shivam Nath sees a purpose. Satyam Shivam Nath is most useful to those who are on the onset of transitioning from material to spiritual. A real need for his presence as a transitory guide, where it is not available. The bridge between you & your Gurudev. This is how he lived his whole life.
